Life is amazing when you are happy. It has so much to offer when one truly embraces it with a positive mind, body, and spirit. My experience has revealed that happiness derives from God through Jesus Christ. It is through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that I have learned the daily practice of the renewal of my mind (Roman 12:2) while setting my mind on good things with humility (Romans 12:18) and
to rejoice in spirit with constat prayer (Roman 12:12). In all honesty, I have accomplished 2/3 of these reference points!
Although my mind and spirit are aligned with these biblical frameworks, I have fallen short when it comes to my body.I have failed to present my body as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1)! Over the years (long before I gave my life to Jesus and to this very moment) I turned to food for comfort like an addict turns to drugs. During troubled times I turned to God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit in prayer but refused to fast (abstaining from food for sacrificial purposes). After years of the same things, I found myself stagnant and asked myself this question: What good is it to be connected to God if you cannot fully partake in ALL of HIS blessings?
Through prayer and seeking God's face, it has now become clear to me that I MUST take a stand against my addiction to food and its negative affects that it has on my life! I weigh 290 lbs! This is the first time that I have EVER revealed my weight to ANYONE! I have made a commitment to God to lose between 70-100 lbs. by July 2013. Understanding that this is an enormous amount of weight to lose in a short period of time, I am calling on Jesus Christ to supply me with courage, endurance, determination, strength, and most of all his favor of HEALTH!
My journey will begin February 1, 2012. I will post daily and weekly updates of my diet and exercise routines. If anyone would like to provide me with suggestions and words of encouragements, feel free to comment. Every pound I lose will go to the Glory of the Lord!
Stay Tuned...
